Read A Thon Information

Getting started

First step: Start Reading!

Second step: Track your points based on this year's Read-a-Thon prompts.

Optional: Collect your "Passport" bookmark & have it stamped as you go! Pick them up at our Welcome Week activities or visit the library's front desk any time. These are simply to help you keep track of your reading progress (and the precious memories). Lost your bookmark? No worries, we've got plenty more, so stop by for as many as you need.

Read A Thon Prompts and Point Values

Read whatever you want! Our Read A Thon prompts come in three categories with varying point levels.

Bronze prompts are the simplest to satisfy and count for 1 entry point each.

Silver prompts are slightly more complex and count for 2 entry points each.

Gold prompts are more challenging to find and count for 4 entry points each.

Image shows how there are three different prompt categories. Bronze is worth 1 entry, Silver is worth 2 entries, Gold is worth 4 entries.

Maximize your entry points per book!

Read strategically! Points stack and we encourage "double-dipping". See how many points you can earn with one book to maximize your chances of winning.

Reporting your progress & collecting entries

Participants are responsible for keeping track of their earned entry points. To help you keep track of your progress, we've created "Golden Ticket" bookmarks. You can pick these up at the library's front desk. You can mark off color-coded dots as you go or visit the library for a fun stamp.

How to collect entries (Bookmark version)

Collecting entries with your bookmark

Once you've marked off your entries and filled out your contact information, bring your completed bookmark to the library's front desk so we can tally your points. If you'd prefer to keep your bookmark as a memento, you can go totally digital with our Google form instead!

You can use as many bookmarks as you'd like.

Ensuring your entries are received

If you choose to turn in bookmark(s) instead of using our Google Form, be sure to print neatly and provide all required information. If we can't read your contact information, all of your hard work will be in vain :(

Collecting entry points online

Collecting entry points online

If you prefer to track points online, you can simply use our streamlined Google Form. You can participate fully without ever visiting campus!

You can fill out a new form each time you finish a book or you can track your points over the semester to turn in one super-impressive combined entry. Your Read-a-Thon, your way!

So get to reading!

So get to reading!

The Read-a-Thon ends October 8th and we will announce the winner during USCL's Halloween activities later that month. Prizes are generously donated by our friends at the USCL Bookstore.

Time to start reading!
